 Required: Parent volunteers from all families
The Edina MTB team is run entirely by volunteers. Everything that goes into coaching, practices, and weekend races are volunteer hours - which is why every Edina MTB family is expected to volunteer throughout the season. We volunteer in three distinct ways: for middle school practices, the Edina MTB team, and the Minnesota Cycling Association (MCA).

Middle School Practice Volunteers
Coaches have found it is critical to have middle school parent volunteers at all middle school practices, which start in July. Each middle school family should sign up for at least two practice volunteer spots this season. We hope to have two parent volunteers at each practice. Middle school families, sign up here. Edina MTB Team Race Weekend Volunteers
Edina MTB needs volunteers to set up our team site at every weekend race. Roles include bringing equipment to race and helping set up, Edina MTB Team check in table in the team tent, tent close and equipment break down, team snack & drink transport, and photographer. Even coaching families need to volunteer at races!

Middle school families sign up here now for at least the first couple of races. Pro tip: 6th and 7th graders race earlier in the day so consider set up volunteer spots; 8th graders are last to ride so consider break down volunteer spots

We will send out additional volunteer requests as the dates approach. Each family with a racer at a weekend race should volunteer in some way. Reminders will be sent to volunteers the week of each race.

Edina MTB Required MCA Volunteer Hours
The Minnesota Cycling Association relies on volunteers to run the weekend races that we participate in.  Edina MTB has a huge roster - which is great, but it also means we have to pull our weight. Last year, Edina MTB exceeded the goal set by MCA for the first time! We want to keep that momentum going! Once we have the 2026 number of required MCA volunteer hours for our team, we will follow up to let you know how many hours each family is required to give.

Pro tips: sign up with a friend, sign up on race day before your rider races - you are on site anyway, or sign up for a nearby race that your rider isn't in at all.
