The Edina and BBB teams follow a code of conduct established by NICA. Athletes are required to agree to abide by this code along with NICA trail etiquette when they join the team. - NICA offers 2nd chance on tobacco an nicotine vaping. The athlete is required to attend counseling or a stop-smoking class upon the first offence. The team may require some additional action. A second offense is treated as a drug/alcohol offence.
- Drug/alcohol use is forbidden.
- NICA bans caffeine, guarana root, taurine, creatine.
- NICA suspensions are 3 races on first offense and three additional races on the second offence. These penalties apply to a second tobacco or nicotine vaping offence and to the offenses described in point two and three, above.
