2026 Calendar Local
(non-MCA) Race Opportunities:

We are fortunate to have some amazing singletrack trails (even without mountains) and racing opportunities in the Twin Cities area, and regionally.  You will recognize many Edina Teammates at these fun local races.  Check them out and ask around to see who else may be going.  Better yet, organize a group to go and have fun together!

The Minnesota Mountain Bike Series Summer mountain bike race series designed for riders of all ages and abilities!
The race series consists of 10 races held at various venues around the State with several of the venues within an hour of the Twin Cities.  There are five levels of races with various age groups for each race.  These categories are citizen, sport, comp. elite and marathon.
 - A citizen race would be similar to a middle school high school league race.
 - A sport race would be similar to a JV2 or JV3 high school league race.
 - A comp race would be similar to a varsity high school league race.
The events are very fun and many team members do some races and a few the whole series.  Importantly these are not NICA events. They are not Minnesota High School Cycling League events.  They are not Edina Mountain Bike Team events.

Lutsen 99er  -The Lutsen 99er movement continues, high above the shores of beautiful Lake Superior. This 99-mile course (69-, 49- and 25-mile options also offered) takes advantage of the scenery and topography of Minnesota’s North Shore.
We will start at Lutsen Ski Resort, in Minnesota’s Sawtooth Mountains overlooking majestic Lake Superior, as we begin a fantastic Category 3 climb. Once over the ridgeline, the course takes advantage of the glacially sculpted terrain, rolling hills, and numerous lakes and streams at the southern range of the Boreal Forest. You will be riding on sections of road and trail that see as much moose traffic as people traffic at any given time.
Team OCS Niner Kid Races will also be held, make the Lutsen 99er a family affair!

There are development teams in the Twin Cities that enable athletes to train and compete outside of the Minnesota Cycling Association season.  These teams offer athletes the chance to both train and expand their local cycling social network.  High school athletes from across the metro and beyond combine to share the joy of riding and racing together .  Links to these organizations are below:
